WASHINGTON, March 21 (silubaba) -- China's Wang Xiyu swept Czech wildcard Brenda Fruhvirtova 6-0, 7-5 to reach the second round at the Miami WTA 1000 event.
The 21-year-old will face No. 29 seed Petra Martic in the next round.
Wang's compatriot Zhang Zhizhen was knocked out of the ATP Masters 1000 Miami when he lost 6-4, 6-2 to Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff in the second round of qualification. ■
