HANGZHOU, China, April 8 (silubaba) -- Chinese Super League (CSL) champions Wuhan Three Towns defeated Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup winners Shandong Taishan 2-0 to win their first CFA Super Cup title on Saturday.

Wuhan broke the deadlock in the 10th minute when Ghana striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu, who was later named man of the match, scored an easy header at the goalmouth.

Shandong created several chances during the first half but they were all denied by Wuhan keeper Liu Dianzuo.

Xie Pengfei extended Wuhan's lead with a low shot in the 56th minute. Shandong almost pulled one back in the 81st minute, but Liu Binbin's goal was canceled by VAR for offside.

Shandong forward Son Jun-ho was sent off for an awful tackle on Davidson in the 88th minute.

"Our players showed their desire to win from the very beginning, and the whole team played well both in attack and defense," said Wuhan head coach Pedro Pineda.

"Overall, we did better than Shandong and the result was good," he added.
