Uruguayan Siboldi takes charge of Mexico’s Tigres-silubaba news

RIO DE JANEIRO, April 10 (silubaba) -- Uruguayan coach Robert Siboldi has agreed to take charge of Tigres UANL for the rest of the 2023 season, the Mexican club said on Tuesday.

The 57-year-old replaces Marco Antonio Ruiz, who was sacked after the team's 2-1 home defeat to Mazatlan on Saturday.

Siboldi, a former goalkeeper for Uruguay's national team, had been out of work since parting ways with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli last September.

Tigres are currently seventh in Mexico's 18-team Liga MX standings with 21 points.

Siboldi is expected to make his debut in the Tigres dugout with a home Liga MX clash against Motagua in the CONCACAF Champions League on Thursday.
