MADRID, April 12 (silubaba) -- Osasuna midfielder Darko Brasanac will miss the rest of the season, including the final of the Copa del Rey, after it was confirmed that he has torn the meniscus and cruciate ligaments in his right knee.
The Serbian midfielder suffered the injury in the first half of Osasuna's 2-1 win at home to Elche on Saturday, after landing badly on his right leg.
The injury came just four days after he formed part of the side that drew 1-1 away to Athletic Club Bilbao to book a place in the Cup final for the second time in the history of the Pamplona based club.
Brasanac will have an operation on Monday and then faces a recovery period of between six to nine months. ■
