Napoli coach Spalletti furious at referee mistake-silubaba news

ROME, April 19 (silubaba) -- SSC Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti criticized Polish referee Szymon Marciniak who "missed a clear penalty" after his team drew 1-1 with AC Milan in the Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday evening.

AC Milan, coached by Stefano Pioli, advanced into the best four of the Champions League thanks to the draw in Naples to win 2-1 on aggregate.

Spaletti believed that his team should have got a penalty after Rafael Leao's sliding tackle on Hirving Lozano before the break. During the action, Polish referee Marciniak showed with a gesture that the Portuguese knocked the ball, not the rival.

"That was a clear penalty on Lozano, very clear. You can see it well in the replays. You risk twisting his ankle, it's a penalty you can't miss. If Lozano's ankle was twisted, there was contact, we don't need to discuss that," Spalletti commented after the clash.

"We congratulate Milan for this qualification, that must be done because they have played two games managing to capitalize to the maximum on their opportunities," the Italian coach added.

"I also want to congratulate my players. We played a Champions League campaign of the highest level and we played a good match against Milan," Spalletti concluded.
