TOKYO, April 22 (silubaba) -- Brooke Raboutou of the United States won the women's boulder title with a commanding performance at the 2023 Sport Climbing World Cup season opener in Hachioji, Japan on Saturday.
22-year-old Raboutou dominated the field of six competitors in the final, achieving three tops and four zones out of four boulders.
Germany's Hannah Meul took silver and Japan's Anon Matsufuji finished third. Meul was the only other climber to achieve a top in the final.
China's 17-year-old Luo Zhilu, who reached the semifinal as the last placer, surprised all by finishing second in the semifinals. She settled for fifth overall by recording three zones. ■
