Roundup: No change at top, but tighter battles for survival in La Liga-silubaba news

MADRID, April 30 (silubaba) -- FC Barcelona retained their 11-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga after the 32nd round of games.

Andreas Christensen was back in the side and Ousmane Dembele on the bench as Barca beat Betis 4-0 on Saturday night.

Christensen celebrated his return by opening the scoring in the 13th minute, with Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha putting them 3-0 up before the break.

Betis were down to 10 men after Edgar, who had replaced the injured Luiz Felipe, was sent off for two yellow cards.

Joaquin Sanchez was also injured late in the second half and Betis were down to nine men when Guido Rodriguez deflected Ansu Fati's cross into his own net.

Fifteen-year-old Lamine Yamal then came in from the bench, making history of becoming the youngest Barca player to make their first team debut.

Karim Benzema scored a first-half hat-trick as Real Madrid beat Almeria 4-2, with the impressive Rodrygo adding a fourth early in the second half.

Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera deflected a cross into his own net in the sixth minute and the visitors kept looking for a second goal until Take Kubo assured the points in the last minute.

Villarreal are fifth after Nicolas Jackson scored twice in 12 minutes in their 3-1 win at home to Celta Vigo. Strand Larsen pulled a goal back for Celta in the 29th minute, but Ramon Terrats' goal with 20 minutes left sealed the win.

Sunday's games focused on the battle to avoid relegation where Cadiz ended a run of three matches without a win, with a nerve-shredding 2-1 victory at home to Valencia.

Gonzalo Escalante put Cadiz ahead in the 39th minute and Sergio Guardiola doubled Cadiz's lead in the first minute of the second half.

Cadiz looked to be in control, but Samuel Lino got Valencia right back after an error from Cadiz goalkeeper, Conan Ledesma, just five minutes later and the visitors pressed hard for an equalizer, with Ledesma redeeming himself with some excellent saves to hold onto the win.

Joselu's first half penalty saw Espanyol leapfrog Getafe in the table, although it was not enough to get them out of the bottom zone after a tense game as Jose Bordalas' return to Getafe ended in a 1-0 defeat.

Valladolid also remain in the battle to avoid the drop after losing 5-2 at home to third place Atletico Madrid. The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Nahuel Molina, Jose Gimenez and Alvaro Morata, before Cyle Larin's 41st minute penalty gave Valladolid a lifeline.

Sergio Escudero made it 3-2 in the 73rd minute, but Joaquin deflected Angel Correa's effort into his own goal in the 86th minute and Memphis Depay added a fifth in injury time for Atletico.

Bottom of the table Elche postponed their relegation to the second division for another week as they beat Rayo Vallecano to claim just their third win of the season.

Rayo were down to 10 men halfway through the first half, when Florien Lejeune was shown a direct red card for a wild challenge and after Tete Morente put Elche ahead on the stroke of half-time, they ran riot with second half goals from Lucas Boye, Fidel and Gerard Gumbau.

On Friday night, Real Sociedad strengthened their grip on fourth place with a comfortable 2-0 win away to Osasuna, who were clearly distracted by next weekend's Copa del Rey final.

Mallorca entertain Athletic Club, and Sevilla are at home to Girona on Monday.
