BERLIN, May 3 (silubaba) -- Dani Olmo seems to know all about how to reach a German Cup final, as the 24-year-old is going to play his third one on June 3.

"If you have won the Cup once, you inevitably want to win it again," the Spanish international said after RB Leipzig crushed Freiburg 5-1 in the semifinal.

One goal and three assists made Olmo turn into his color's hero. The midfielder perfectly slipped into the role of Leipzig's game-conducting force, leading his side into the fourth final within five years.

Winning in 2022 following defeats against Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund seems to trigger a special motivation around the side.

While the race for the UEFA Champions League spots is still open with four rounds of matches to play, the cliffhanger seems to emit a particular inducement.

The league schedule takes the German Cup specialists back to Freiburg this Saturday for an important game.

Marco Rose spoke about a solid flow his midfielder is enjoying. "We desperately need his contribution for the final weeks as everybody could see today," the Leipzig coach said.

While rumors about his future seem to grow, Olmo assured to stay entirely focused on this season. "We know about the final weeks of a season. You must keep your head clear to make your way to silverware," the Spaniard stated.

Despite a contract with Leipzig until 2024, rumors are blooming about his future as his performance is attracting the interest of leading European sides.

Leipzig CEO Max Eberl called Olmo's future one of the main tasks he intends to get solved in the upcoming summer break.

As for Olmo and his teammates, things can end up with the club's second important title after beating Freiburg in the 2022 final on penalties.

In their third consecutive final, Leipzig is going to meet the winner between Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

Happily, Olmo slipped into the prepared red shirt with the writing "Again and again Leipzig" on it.

The Spaniard's remaining time in Leipzig seems an important piece of the puzzle in the club's way of trying to establish itself at the top.

"We have set a mark and indicated the club's potential. We now have two major goals, the Cup final and next season's Champions League participation," Eberl said.
