JERUSALEM, May 4 (silubaba) -- Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv achieved a 104-69 home win against AS Monaco in Game 4 of the best-of-five EuroLeague Basketball playoff series on Thursday night.
Maccabi thus tied the series at 2-2, forcing a decisive fifth game scheduled for Wednesday in Monaco, with the winner qualifying for the Final Four to be held on May 19 and 21 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Monaco took advantage of Maccabi turnovers to gain a 24-17 lead at the end of the first quarter of the game, played at Menora Mivtachim Arena in front of 10,850 fans.
Lorenzo Brown and John DiBartolomeo then led Maccabi to perform an impressive 20-0 run in the second quarter to make it 37-24 in the 15th minute.
3-pointers by Elie Okobo helped Monaco respond with a 12-2 run, but Bonzie Colson inspired the hosts to increase the lead to 47-36 at halftime.
Points by Wade Baldwin and Brown allowed Maccabi to expand the margin to 79-53 at the end of the third quarter.
Brown scored 22 points, while Baldwin added 19 more, with both players also contributing 6 assists each. Their teammate Alex Poythress finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Mike James contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds for Monaco. ■
