BUENOS AIRES, May 7 (silubaba) -- Pablo Vegetti struck a first-half winner as 10-man Belgrano kept in touch with Argentina's Primera Division leaders on Saturday with a 1-0 home win over Atletico Tucuman.
Vegetti put the hosts ahead by heading home just after the half hour mark after an Ariel Rojas corner.
But the momentum shifted after Alejandro Rebola was shown a straight red card for a bad tackle on Marcelo Estigarribia in the 39th minute.
Atletico Tucuman began to dominate possession and had several chances to equalize in the second half but failed to find a way past goalkeeper Nahuel Losada.
The result leaves Belgrano with 27 points from 15 outings, seven points behind leaders River Plate. Atletico Tucuman are 26th in the 28-team standings with 14 points.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Saturday, Argentinos Juniors drew 2-2 at home to Independiente, Colon secured a 2-0 home victory over Banfield and Lanus prevailed 1-0 at home to Huracan. ■
