HANGZHOU, May 11 (silubaba) -- Shen Deyong, a former national political advisor accused of taking bribes, stood trial at the Intermediate People's Court of Ningbo in east China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday.
Shen, formerly a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and head of the Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, was charged with accepting money and valuables worth 64.56 million yuan (about 9.34 million U.S. dollars) personally and through his relatives, according to prosecutors.
