MEXICO CITY, May 13 (silubaba) -- Club America advanced to the semifinals of Mexico's Liga MX Clausura tournament on Saturday despite a 2-1 home defeat to San Luis.
Facing a 3-1 deficit after the first leg, San Luis drew level on aggregate following first-half goals from Unai Bilbao and Leo Bonatini at Estadio Azteca.
But Brian Rodriguez struck in the 88th minute to hand Club America a 4-3 win on aggregate.
Monterrey also booked a spot in the last four when goals each side of halftime from Rogelio Funes Mori and Maximiliano Meza fired them to a 2-0 home victory over Santos Laguna.
The result came after a goalless draw in last week's first leg at Santos Laguna's Estadio Corona. ■
