Knowledge-sharing forum held to promote South-South cooperation-silubaba news

BEIJING, May 15 (silubaba) -- An international forum on knowledge-sharing related to South-South cooperation was held in Beijing on Monday, which was expected to create new and digital forms of cooperation.

Jointly hosted by the UN World Food Program and the China International Communications Group (CICG), the forum was attended by nearly 100 institution representatives both online and offline.

Addressing the forum, CICG president Du Zhanyuan called on building a global consensus and mobilizing resources worldwide to promote knowledge-sharing. He also suggested that universities, research institutes and think tanks bring their competitive edges into play and strengthen exchanges and dialogue.

A joint knowledge-sharing partnership initiative for South-South cooperation was put forward at the forum, calling for efforts to strengthen digital cooperation, enhance partnerships through knowledge-sharing and work together to cope with the global food crisis.

According to the event, a knowledge-sharing platform and e-school program for South-South cooperation was launched in 2022, providing information-sharing services and solutions for food security, nutrition and poverty reduction, among other fields.

Over the past year, the platform has received over 2.5 million visits and attracted netizens from 84 countries and regions, according to the event.
