Dubbed the ultimate Hollywood blockbuster event, "Fast X" combines high-speed car races with thrilling heist action. The film was directed by Louis Leterrier, with a screenplay by Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin. As the sequel to "F9" (2021) and the opening act of the final trilogy in the mainline "Fast & Furious" series, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast. Led by Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, the film features the talents of Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Momoa, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and Rita Moreno.

The story centers around Dominic Toretto's mission to protect his crew and family from Dante Reyes, the vengeful son of drug lord Hernan Reyes. Seeking revenge for his father's demise and the loss of his family's fortune during the Rio de Janeiro heist in "Fast Five" (2011), Dante proves to be a formidable threat. The film features a series of stunning and explosive action sequences, captivating audiences with its spectacle of excitement. Moreover, the film includes surprises and nostalgic elements, such as archival footage featuring the late Paul Walker, enhancing its appeal. Since its premiere in Beijing and nine other cities on Monday, the film has received an abundance of rave reviews on Chinese social media platforms.

Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa sent recorded videos to greet Chinese audiences ahead of the screening. Diesel expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of fans, while Momoa shared his excitement about portraying the complex character of Hernan Reyes, noting that it had been a decade since he last played a villain in a film.

The Universal CityWalk Cinema was decked out in "Fast X" decor, featuring a prominently displayed gold Lamborghini, reminiscent of the one seen in the film. A special exhibition is also currently taking place within Universal Studios Beijing's theme park. The exhibition showcases prop cars, including the iconic 1970 Dodge Charger and the beloved 1967 Ford Fairlane, which were transported from Los Angeles to Beijing for this extraordinary event.

"Fast X" made its world premiere in Rome on May 12, 2023. Set for release in China on May 17, 2023, two days before its U.S. debut, the film highlights China's importance as a significant market for the franchise since importing the fourth installment in 2009. The franchise has witnessed tremendous growth in China since then. Cumulatively, all installments, including the spin-off, have raked in an impressive 8.61 billion yuan ($1.24 billion). The seventh installment, touched by the tragic loss of Paul Walker, garnered a staggering 2.43 billion yuan, while the subsequent film exceeded that with 2.67 billion yuan. However, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic's impact and mixed reviews, "F9" achieved 1.39 billion yuan in China. Now, the race is on to see if "Fast X" can outpace its predecessors at the box office.
