The Information Office of Beijing Municipal People's Government and Guangming Online jointly launched a 20-episode short video series titled "Overlooking Beijing: A City's Wisdom for Development" on April 17. The innovative series combines satellite images, graphics, and text to illustrate the capital's ongoing transformation into a greener, more livable, and international city.

Xu Hejian, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and head of the Information Office of Beijing Municipal People's Government, praised the series for employing new storytelling techniques and advanced technology to establish an international communication brand.

The series features episodes such as "Welcome to the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center," which showcases the vitality of the city's sub-center development through satellite time-lapse imagery. Another episode, "Shining Night Beijing," highlights the city's expanding construction using high-precision optical imaging of Beijing's nighttime lighting. Additionally, "Every Species Can Find a Home" reveals the successful outcomes of Beijing's biodiversity initiatives, as seen from the perspective of a giant taro in the National Botanical Garden.

The series uses cutting-edge technology such as satellite data visualization, 3D modeling, and digital earth technology to present panoramic views of the city's progress.

Starting on April 17 and continuing until May 24, new episodes will be released weekly on "beijingfabu," the official WeChat account of the Information Office of Beijing Municipal People's Government, and Guangming Online.
