MEXICO CITY, May 17 (silubaba) -- Mexico international midfielder Sebastian Cordova struck a second-half equalizer as Tigres UANL earned a 1-1 home draw with Monterrey in the first leg of their Liga MX Clausura semifinal on Wednesday.
Maximiliano Meza put the visitors ahead when he spotted goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman off his line before floating a perfectly weighted 35-yard free-kick into the far corner off.
The hosts equalized through Cordova, who sent a superb first-time effort past Argentine goalkeeper Esteban Andrada following Javier Aquino's cross.
The decisive leg will be played at Monterrey's BBVA Stadium on Saturday, with the winner earning the right to play Guadalajara or Club America for the trophy.
The final will be played over two legs, home and away, on May 25 and May 28. ■
