Ancelotti insists that he will coach Real Madrid next season-silubaba news

MADRID, May 20 (silubaba) -- Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insisted on Saturday that he would still be in the dugout at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season.

The Italian was speaking to the press ahead of his side's La Liga game at home to Valencia on Sunday. The game comes a week after FC Barcelona were crowned as league champions in Spain and five days after Real Madrid were knocked out of the Champions League after a 4-0 loss to Manchester City in which Madrid were outplayed for the entire 90 minutes.

Although Ancelotti has a contract until the end of June 2024, the nature of the defeat has seen doubts raised over the Italian's future in Madrid.

"I think that everyone knows how my situation is and that I want to end my contract," he said, reminding everyone his deal was "until 2024 and I want to continue..."

Ancelotti also said he had spoken to club president, Florentino Perez, who is known for sacking coaches following a major disappointment.

"Yesterday (Friday) we had a meeting, as we usually do. He showed his support and we talked about Wednesday's game. We will continue with the same hopes of doing things well."

He admitted that the semifinal defeat "hurts," but insisted that the club "must not forget that it was the semifinals, not a round of 16 or group stage. We have been close to playing another final. We are hurt, but sometimes you find another team that does things better and you have to look at the next Champions League," he insisted.

Finally, Ancelotti said he was "more excited and want to do better," after the defeat because, "the excitement of being at Real Madrid is always maximum."
