Wuhan striker Tao thanks teammates for best player award-silubaba news

BEIJING, June 1 (silubaba) -- Wuhan Three Towns forward Tao Qianglong expressed gratitude to his teammates after being voted the best player of the Chinese Super League (CSL) ninth round.

The 21-year-old hitman won the award for his hat-trick in the Wuhan side's 5-0 away win over Nantong Zhiyun on May 23.

"This award would have been impossible without team work. With the help from my teammates, I was able to display my quality," he said.

"All the goals are the result of team cooperation, as my teammates passes and moves created chances for me to score. My confidence and composure mattered as well," he said.

"It's a great delight to score three goals in one match, but I have to stay humble. I must work hard in hope of scoring more goals for our team," the striker added.

The CSL title holders Wuhan Three Towns are currently seventh in the league table with 14 points from ten games, 12 points adrift of the leaders Shanghai Port.
