Super Anime Co, an exhibition displaying manuscripts of classic animation series, opened in Beijing on June 16, under the guidance of Art Exhibitions China and the Japan-China Cultural Exhibition Association.
Centered on the creation and production process of traditional animation, the exhibition showcases more than 300 hand-drawn manuscripts and sketches from 36 animation works, including Japanese anime series One Piece and Chinese classic animation film Uproar in Heaven.
The exhibition comprises three main themes — introduction to the creation process of hand-drawn animation, classic animation works in chronicle order, as well as activities aimed at popularizing animation to the potential audience and a cultural merchandise display.
Artist Zhong Xi collaborates with the exhibition and designs a character named Ice-cream Monster, a cute and imaginative girl figure who loves animation and guides the visitors on a tour through the exhibition.
The exhibition runs at Beijing's Phoenix Center until Oct 6.
