The leader of the United Kingdom's official opposition Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, said on Monday evening during a debate in Parliament about the UK's pending exit from the European Union that he will call a vote of no confidence in the prime minister.

Corbyn said it was unacceptable that MPs were being asked to wait until Jan 14 before they could vote on Prime Minister Theresa May's proposed deal with the EU. Speaker John Bercow, who keeps order in Parliament, said he has noted Corbyn's comments. The Associated Press said Corbyn's move appeared to be largely symbolic.
