Venezuela midfielder Soteldo dropped from Santos squad-silubaba news

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 1 (silubaba) -- Santos playmaker Yeferson Soteldo has been left out of the team's matchday squad for Sunday's away clash against Cuiaba amid reports of indiscipline.

News outlet Globo Esporte said the decision came after the 26-year-old Venezuela international missed an obligatory training session without providing a valid reason.

"In a joint decision by the board and the coaching staff, Soteldo will train separately from the main group," Santos said in a statement on the club's official website on Saturday.

"The player was notified and will not travel with the squad for the game against Cuiaba."

Santos are currently 13th in the 20-team Brazilian Serie A standings with just three wins from 12 games.

The club last month turned Soteldo's loan from Mexico's Tigres UANL into a permanent deal, agreeing to a contract that runs until June 2027.
