Uruguayan midfielder Fernandez joins Fluminense-silubaba news

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 4 (silubaba) -- Fluminense have reached a deal to sign Uruguayan midfielder Leo Fernandez on loan from Mexico's Toluca, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Tuesday.

Fernandez will be tied to the Rio de Janeiro outfit until June 2024 under a deal that includes an option to make the move permanent.

"It makes me enormously happy to be able to represent this club," the 24-year-old told Fluminense's official website.

"I hope to take advantage of the opportunity and repay the faith that has been shown in me in the best way possible."

Fernandez has scored 25 goals and provided 18 assists since joining Toluca from their Liga MX rivals Tigres UANL in 2020.
