BUENOS AIRES, July 10 (silubaba) -- Luis Vazquez struck a second-half winner as Boca Juniors clinched a 1-0 home win over Huracan in Argentina's Primera Division on Monday.
Vazquez broke the deadlock just before the hour when he ran onto Cristian Medina's perfectly weighted through ball before slotting a first-time shot into the far corner.
The visitors had only one shot on target for the entire match and were reduced to 10 men in the 90th minute when Fernando Godoy was shown a straight red card for a bad tackle on Medina.
The result at La Bombonera leaves Boca with 35 points from 24 games, 19 points behind leaders River Plate with three match days remaining. Huracan are 27th in the 28-team standings with 19 points so far.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Monday, Union Santa Fe held Talleres Cordoba to a goalless home draw, Belgrano drew 0-0 at Colon and Barracas were held to a goalless draw at home to Argentinos Juniors. ■
