LOS ANGELES, July 12 (silubaba) -- Henry Martin and Luis Chavez scored first-half goals as Mexico advanced to the CONCACAF Gold Cup final with a 3-0 win over Jamaica on Wednesday.
Martin and Chavez struck in the first half-hour before Roberto Alvarado added a third goal in second-half stoppage time.
El Tri will meet Panama in the final after the latter overcame the United States on penalties in the other semifinal.
The game was forced into a shootout after Jesus Ferreira canceled out Ivan Anderson's opener in extra time. Adalberto Carrasquilla converted the decisive spot-kick as Panama prevailed 5-4 in the shootout.
The final will be played on July 16 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. ■
