FUKUOKA, Japan, July 18 (silubaba) -- Florian Wellbrock secured his second gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships as he retained the 5km open water title here on Tuesday.
Wellbrock, winner in the 10km event on Sunday, triumphed in the race in 53 minutes and 58 seconds. Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri took silver in 54:02.50 and his compatriot Domenico Acerenza finished third in 54:04.20.
Germany has so far bagged all golds from four open water events in Fukuoka, with women's 5km and 10km titles going to Leonie Beck. ■
