China renews alerts for geological disasters-silubaba news

BEIJING, July 29 (silubaba) -- Chinese authorities on Saturday issued alerts for possible geological disasters triggered by rain.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Meteorological Administration have issued a yellow alert for risks of rain-induced geological disasters in parts of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Zhejiang, Fujian, Henan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Shaanxi and Gansu from 8 p.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The two departments also issued an orange alert for such risks in southwestern areas of Beijing, western and central parts of Hebei, eastern parts of Shanxi, southeastern parts of Liaoning, northeastern parts of Fujian, central parts of Shaanxi, and eastern parts of Gansu.

Residents of these regions have been advised to take precautions, especially in areas with hidden dangers.

China has a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system for geological disasters, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
