FUKUOKA, Japan, July 30 (silubaba) -- Canada's Summer McIntosh retained the women's 400m individual medley title with a championships record here on Sunday.
The 17-year-old, who had already won the 200m butterfly gold, dominated the race to finish in 4:27.11.
Katie Grimes, also 17, repeated last year's performance at the Budapest worlds by placing second in 4:31.41. It was the 20th silver medal for the United States, who has won just five golds.
The bronze went to Jenna Forrester of Australia, who clocked 4:32.30. ■
