BEIJING, Aug. 1 (silubaba) -- Brazilian striker Marcao said he was happy to play regular football games after he was loaned back to the Chinese Super League (CSL) club Wuhan Three Towns.
Marcao returned to the Wuhan club last week on loan from Saudi club Al-Ahli where he got few playing opportunities.
The 29-year-old striker started in Wuhan's 1-0 win over Qingdao Hainiu in a CSL game on Sunday.
"I'm back at home, back at a place where I can play games and make myself happy," he said.
"Thanks to Wuhan club, and I promise I will try my best and devote all myself to repay your love," he added.
Marcao had joined Al-Ahli in a 4.5 million euro move after helping Wuhan win the Chinese Super League in 2022.
But he found playing time hard to come by at Al-Ahli, prompting his return to Wuhan, for whom he scored 27 goals last season. ■
