BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 10 (silubaba) -- Fiorentina have reached an agreement to sign Argentine striker Lucas Beltran from River Plate, according to widespread media reports in the South American country.
The Italian Serie A club agreed to pay 25 million euros to secure Beltran on a contract that runs until June 2028, newspaper Ole said on Thursday.
It added that Roma had also submitted a late bid to sign the 22-year-old.
Beltran, a product of River Plate's youth academy, scored 22 goals in 78 appearances over two separate spells with the Buenos Aires club.
Fiorentina currently have three other Argentine players in their squad: center-back Lucas Martinez-Quarta, midfielder Gino Infantino and winger Nico Gonzalez. ■
