Shandong wins mixed team skeet at China's National Games

XI'AN, China, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Han Xu and Wei Ning from Shandong Province defeated Liaoning to claim the mixed team skeet title at China's 14th National Games here on Saturday.

Han, who had earlier won the men's skeet gold for Shandong on Friday, missed only one of his 20 shots in the final. Han and teammate Wei won with 34 hits from 40 attempts.

"The mixed team skeet competition is more difficult than men's skeet, because we need to pay close attention to our teammate's performance. I would feel nervous if I missed a shot," said 20-year old Han.

Wei won silver medals in the women's skeet at both 2004 and 2012 Olympic Games. "Han is full of potential. Hopefully he will make good performances in future events," said Wei.

Dun Yueheng and Yang Ying of Liaoning Province took the silver medal with 32 hits from 40 attempts.

Wei's younger sister Wei Meng, who claimed gold in the women's skeet on Friday and took a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, finished third along with her Shandong teammate Tang Shuai. Enditem
