RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 14 (silubaba) -- Internacional have completed the signing of Spanish right-back Hugo Mallo on a free transfer, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Monday.
The 32-year-old will be tied to Internacional until August 2024 with an option to extend the agreement should the parties agree.
The announcement comes after Mallo ended his 14-year spell with Spanish club Celta Vigo in June.
His arrival in Porto Alegre reunites him with Inter manager Eduardo Coudet, who was Celta Vigo's boss from 2020 to 2022.
Internacional are currently 13th in Brazil's 20-team Serie A standings with six wins from 19 games so far.
Their next fixture is a home duel against Fortaleza in Brazil's top flight on Saturday. ■
