COLOMBO, Aug. 29 (silubaba) -- Sri Lanka's Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe on Tuesday approved the 15-member squad for the 2023 Cricket Asia Cup, the ministry of sports announced.
Four main bowlers, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka, and Lahiru Kumara have been ruled out due to injuries.
Binura Fernando and Pramod Madushan, who have been performing well in the domestic circuit, have been included in the squad and will lead the fast bowling attack with Kasun Rajitha and Matheesha Pathirana.
The 2023 Asia Cup will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka between August 30 and September 17 and the two hosts will be joined by Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Nepal for the 16th edition of the event. ■
