BEIJING, Sept. 1 (silubaba) -- A public prosecution has been initiated against Ji Guogang, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Regional People's Congress, due to suspected bribery and abuse of power.
The Chengdu Municipal People's Procuratorate in Sichuan Province recently filed a lawsuit against Ji with the Intermediate People's Court of Chengdu, an official statement said Friday.
The lawsuit follows the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision into Ji's case.
The procuratorate charged Ji with taking undue advantage of his official authority or position to seek gains for others and illegally accepting a huge amount of bribes in the form of money and valuables in return.
Ji was also found to have practiced favoritism, falsification, and abuse of powers, causing especially heavy losses to the interests of the state when he previously served as chairman of a state-owned development and investment group company in the Tibet Autonomous Region, according to public prosecutors. ■
