Bayern trash Darmstadt to take lead in Bundesliga-silubaba news

BERLIN, Oct. 28 (silubaba) -- Ruthless Bayern Munich recovered from an early red card and cruised 8-0 past nine-men Darmstadt thanks to Harry Kane's hat trick in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

The Bavarians started with a setback into the clash though as Joshua Kimmich received his marching orders after tackling Marvin Mehlem as the last man standing with only four minutes gone.

With 21 minutes into the game, both teams were with ten players as Klaus Gjasula saw also a red card for a foul play on Konrad Laimer at the other end of the pitch.

Bayern then created the first clear cut chance of the match with 25 minutes gone when Matthijs de Ligt tested Darmstadt goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen.

Darmstadt fought back and came close moments later when Tim Skarke's effort from tight angle forced custodian Manuel Neuer into action.

The flow of the match got disrupted by the third dismissal as Matej Maglica couldn't stop Kane at the edge of the penalty box in the 41st minute.

After the restart, Bayern capitalized on its numerical advantage and eventually opened the scoring through Kane, who nodded home Noussair Mazraoui's cross into the box in the 51st minute.

Darmstadt couldn't keep Bayern at bay as Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala added more goals to the host's lead, making it 3-0 on the scoreboards with 60 minutes played.

The visitor's resilience was broken whereas Bayern wasn't done with the scoring. Sane wrapped up his brace with a well-placed shot from 16 meters while Kane unleashed a shot from inside his own half to make it 5-0 on the scoreboards in the 69th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for the Bundesliga newcomers as Thomas Muller, Musiala and Kane rounded off the 8-0 victory.

"It was a crazy first half against a strong opponent. We made overall too many mistakes in the first half. After the break and in superior number we created a lot of chances and scored a lot of goals," said Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel.

With the win, Bayern jump atop the standings for the moment meanwhile Darmstadt slump to the 14th place.

Elsewhere, Stuttgart's winning run came to an end as Hoffenheim clinched a 3-2 away victory. Leipzig secured a hammering 6-0 victory over Cologne to move into the top four. Struggling Union Berlin suffered its tenth straight defeat after losing 2-0 to Werder Bremen. Borussia Monchengladbach edged newly promoted Heidenheim 2-1 and Augsburg came from behind to stun Wolfsburg 3-2.

Bochum shared the spoils with Mainz following a two-all draw already on Friday.
