KAMPALA, Oct. 29 (silubaba) -- Uganda defeated Zambia in the opening match of the 2023 Victoria Rugby Cup, winning 30-8 at the King's Park Arena in Kampala on Saturday.
Uganda coach Fred Mudoola told that it was good to start the tournament with a win. "We started slowly, but the players intensified their search for more tries."
Magomu said that after winning the opening match they must now prepare well for the next match against arch-rivals Kenya on November 5.
"We played so well as a team, but of course there are improvements we can make as well going forward. The game against Kenya will serve as the first leg of the Elgon Cup and therefore it means a lot to us," added Magomu. ■
