Cavani: Libertadores final biggest game of my life-silubaba news

RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 3 (silubaba) -- Boca Juniors striker Edinson Cavani has described the Copa Libertadores final against Fluminense as the biggest game of his 18-year professional career.

The 36-year-old said his previous successes would count for little as the Argentine side strive to win South America's most prestigious club competition for a seventh time at Rio Janeiro's Maracana stadium on Saturday.

"The past is irrelevant and we're only thinking about what we can do now, in the present," Cavani told reporters.

"There are many things that contribute to the fact that this will be the most important game that I've played in."

Cavani admitted that expectations on the Buenos Aires giants would be high because of their standing in South American football and the fact they are the second-most successful club in the history of the Copa Libertadores.

Boca's Argentine rivals Independiente are the only side to have won more Libertadores titles, having lifted the trophy seven times.

"This club has a lot of history and it makes me feel proud to now be a part of it," he said.

"Wearing this shirt makes you feel something and we'll be trying to bring that energy into the match on Saturday."
