BEIJING -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Santa Cruz Islands at 1345 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 231.3 km, was initially determined to be at 12.51 degrees south latitude and 167.04 degrees east longitude.
