MADRID, May 29 (Xinhua) -- World silver medalist Qieyang Shijie of China celebrated her third title in five weeks with a convincing 20km victory at the 35th Gran Premio Cantones de La Coruna, a World Athletics Race Walking Tour Gold event, held in Spain's northwest coastal city on Saturday.
The 31-year-old Chinese notched a comfortable sole lead after eight kilometers and went on to extend her advantage all the way until hitting the finish line in style in one hour, 27 minutes and 50 seconds.
Peru's Kimberly Garcia lagged 48 seconds behind to finish second, followed by Spaniard Maria Perez in 1:29:33.
With the victory in La Coruna, Qieyang has managed to maintain her all-win record in the current season, as she also collected the 10km title in the World Athletics Race Walking Tour Gold event in Madrid on May 16 and a 35km win in the Slovakian city of Dudince on April 23.
Alvaro Martin led a one-two finish for Spain in the men's 20km event on Saturday with a winning mark of 1:19:58, followed by his compatriot Diego Garcia in 1:20:00. Caio Bonfim of Brazil took the third place in 1:20:14.
