MADRID, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid have completed a double transfer swoop with the signing of Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth from Villarreal for around 32 million euros.
The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract until the end of June 2028.
Sorloth joins just hours after Atletico announced the arrival of Spain international, defender Robin le Normand from Real Sociedad and the pair were in the stands when Atletico defeated Getafe on Saturday night in a pre-season preparation match.
Sorloth arrives at Atletico after netting 23 goals in La Liga and a further three in the Europa League last season and will help cover for the departure of Memphis Depay and Alvaro Morata, with Morata joining AC Milan.
He has plenty of experience of playing in Spain after two seasons with Real Sociedad, where he played on loan from RB Leipzig. ■
