PARIS, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Reigning Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of the United States broke her own world record to retain the women's 400m hurdles gold at the Paris Olympic Games on Thursday.
The 25-year-old clocked 50.37 seconds to beat the previous record of 50.65s set at the U.S. Olympics trials in June. It has been the sixth time for her to renew the world record since first managing the feat in 2021 with 51.90s. ■
