Chinese cyclists ensure men's C1 3000m individual pursuit gold at Paris Paralympics

PARIS, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese cyclists Li Zhangyu and Liang Weicong ensured a 1-2 finish by advancing into the gold medal match in the men's C1 3000m individual pursuit at the Paris Paralympics on Thursday.

Li broke the world record in the qualifying with a time of 3:31.338, 11.130 seconds ahead of his compatriot Liang.

The Games' first gold medal will be awarded in the women's C4 500m time trial, just before the men's C1 3000m individual pursuit.
