Tunisian president replaces governors of all provinces ahead of presidential election

TUNIS - Tunisian President Kais Saied on Sunday replaced the governors of all 24 provinces in the country, the Tunis Afrique Presse reported Monday morning.

The president made the decision ahead of the presidential election on Oct 6, said the report, without providing reasons for the decision.

On Aug 8, the president sacked Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, replacing him with Kamel Maddouri, the former social affairs minister. On Aug 25, the president replaced 19 ministers.
