MADRID, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- La Liga side Real Betis on Monday announced an agreement with Mexican club Monterrey to sign Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa.
Deossa is expected to sign a contract through June 2030 for a fee of about 13 million euros (15 million U.S. dollars).
The 25-year-old impressed at the recent FIFA Club World Cup, prompting Betis to move quickly for the left-footed midfielder, known for his long-range shooting. He is expected to help fill the gap left by U.S. international Johnny Cardoso, who joined Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, although Deossa offers a different style in midfield.
Real Sociedad also moved in the transfer market, with the San Sebastian club close to signing Portuguese international winger Goncalo Guedes from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Guedes is in San Sebastian for a medical ahead of a deal worth about five million euros. The 28-year-old will return to Spain after impressing at Valencia from 2017 to 2022, before joining Wolves for about 30 million euros.
He struggled in the Premier League and was loaned to former club Benfica, before spending last season at Villarreal, where he made 17 La Liga appearances. ■
