World Robot Conference unveils 10 most promising application scenarios for humanoids

BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- The 10 most promising application scenarios for humanoid robots were announced Friday at the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Robot Conference in Beijing.

According to the China Institute of Electronics, these scenarios are driving positive impacts across industries, along with the advances in humanoid technologies and product iterations.

These identified scenarios encompass general industrial operations, automotive manufacturing, 3C product manufacturing, shipbuilding, petrochemical production inspection, power generation, emergency response operations, commercial services, home services and agricultural production.

For example, humanoid robots, equipped with visual recognition systems, gripping functions and mobility capabilities, can transfer, sort and allocate materials, and conduct quality inspection, optimizing industrial and agricultural production efficiency.

In hazardous environments, such as grinding and polishing of ship hulls, petrochemical production inspection, power plant operation and emergency response, humanoid robots can monitor risks, handle tasks precisely and collect real-time data, mitigating safety risks for personnel.

Additionally, they enhance user experiences by providing interactive services in hotels and shopping malls, while assisting with repetitive household chores for children and elderly residents.

Co-organized by the China Institute of Electronics and the World Robot Cooperation Organization, the five-day conference is themed "Making Robots Smarter, Making Embodied Agents More Intelligent."

The event showcases over 1,500 exhibits from more than 200 leading robotics companies from around the world.
