WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese center Li Yueru contributed a career-high 20 points in the Dallas Wings' 81-80 victory over the Indiana Fever in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) on Tuesday.
Li's previous highest score in WNBA was 19 points, which she got when playing for the Los Angeles Sparks last season.
Facing the higher-ranked Fever, Li shot seven of 14 from the field to go along with four rebounds and two steals.
The Wings led 78-61 midway through the fourth quarter, but the Fever rode on a 19-3 run over the final six minutes to almost achieve a comeback, with the Wings' only points down the stretch coming from Li's three-point play.
Playing in her third WNBA season, Li posted an average of 5.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.
With a win-loss record of 9-24, the Wings rank 11th in the 13-team standings. ■
