HOHHOT, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Three people were found dead and three others went missing after torrential rains starting from Monday hit Ordos, a city in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
These figures are based on tallies as of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Three people were found dead in floodwaters in the early morning of Tuesday, in the Dongsheng District of Ordos, where a downpour with a maximum rainfall of 214 mm lasted from Monday afternoon to early Tuesday.
Three individuals are missing in the Dalad Banner of Ordos due to the heavy rains. All-out search and rescue efforts are underway. ■
