FC Barcelona defender Garcia to play with facemask after suffering broken nose

MADRID, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona defender Eric Garcia broke his nose in Wednesday's 3-3 draw away to Club Brugge and will try to play Sunday wearing a protective facemask.

FC Barcelona confirmed on its official website that following a collision with Brugge substitute Romeo Vermant in the closing minutes of the match "first team player, Eric Garcia has a broken nose."

"He will wear a protective mask and any potential involvement in the upcoming game against Celta de Vigo will be assessed," explains the club.

If Garcia is unable to play, it would be a blow to Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, whose defense has looked vulnerable this season.

Garcia has played 15 times in all competitions this season, logging 1,121 minutes, the most in the first team to date.
