ROME, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- The organizers of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games on Thursday unveiled the concept of their closing ceremony, "Beauty in Action," along with the first artist involved.
The closing ceremony will be held on Feb. 22, 2026 at the Arena di Verona, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with the amphitheater transformed into a boundless stage.
According to the organizers, the theme "Beauty in Action" pays tribute to the beauty of motion, celebrating the connection between sport, art and human relationships, and reflecting the harmony between nature and the city, mountains and plains.
Inspired by Italy's cultural heritage, the ceremony will combine opera, music, dance, cinema, design and technology, bringing together classical and contemporary elements.
During the event, Roberto Bolle, the world-renowned ballet star, was announced as the first Italian artist to take part in the ceremony. Alfredo Accatino, president of Filmmaster, will lead the creative team for the ceremony.
Organizing Committee President Giovanni Malago pointed out that the ceremony will be held at a World Heritage Site - the Arena di Verona: "An eternal stage where history embraces the future, at an event that combines sport, art and culture in a celebration of Italian beauty." ■
