HONG KONG, May 7 (silubaba) -- Kitchee claimed its third consecutive Hong Kong Premier League title after drawing 2-2 with Lee Man in the final round of matches on Sunday.
The race for the 2022-23 title went down to the wire with Kitchee leading the table with two points over second-placed Lee Man before the final round, meaning Kitchee needed just one point to secure the title, while Lee Man had to take three points to turn the tide.
In a dramatic game, Lee Man was close to completing the miracle, but twice fumbled the lead to see Kitchee lift its sixth league trophy with 15 victories, one draw and two defeats in the season. ■
