NBA player Lonnie Walker joins Maccabi Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Israeli EuroLeague club Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday announced the signing of NBA player Lonnie Walker.

The 26-year-old American shooting guard was signed to a two-year contract, in which will earn approximately 4.5 million U.S. dollars.

Walker has played in 342 NBA regular-season games since 2018, representing the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and, most recently, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Across those regular-season appearances, he has averaged 10 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He also has 19 NBA playoff appearances.

In between, before arriving in Philadelphia this year, Walker played for Lithuanian side Zalgiris Kaunas, including 19 EuroLeague appearances.

Maccabi's General Manager Claudio Coldebella said: "Bringing a talent of this caliber to Tel Aviv, a player that was drafted and tested in the NBA, is a strong and clear signal of our ambition to compete at the highest levels."
